Brand-new to our range, the Bakers Classic Syrup was developed to provide a sugar-free alternative to corn syrup and agave syrup.
- No flavour but very sweet so can be used as a 1:1 replacement in recipes where syrup is used
- Ideal for raw bakes, cakes, pastries, cookies and beverages that need a touch of sweetness
- Can be heated but shouldn't need to boil the syrup as it will provide very similar characteristics as glucose and corn syrups
- Can be used in place of other syrups to create additional moisture and give a slightly chewy texture, ideal for recipes like meringues
- Gluten free
Potassium sorbate is used to inhibit molds and yeasts in many foods, such as cheese, wine, yogurt, dried meats, apple cider, rehydrated fruits, soft drinks and fruit drinks, and baked goods. We use it in a very small amount in our maple syrup in order to ensure no bacteria growth and to keep the PH constant during temperature fluctuations.
