What lead to LAKANTO® being founded in 1993?

A Japanese company called Saraya created monkfruit sweetener.

Mr Saraya was diagnosed with diabetes and worked closely with a team of scientists, to find and create a sugar alternative that would benefit anyone in the same position as him. His passion to deliver a great tasting option, that took into consideration people’s preferences and health concerns, is what lead to the company being founded, and is what drives the business today!
